Tiny Homes

Be aware of structures being sold as “tiny homes”. Just because a dealer sells something listed as a “tiny home” does not mean it is legal and allowed in the city/county you reside. You never want to take a sellers word on yes this is allowed. You want to call your local Area Plan Commission and Building Commission and ask about what is allowed and what the codes are.

MANY of the “tiny homes” you see being sold are not legal as livable dwellings on peoples properties. There are many codes that must be met and minimum square footage requirements. You do not want to be out thousands of dollars being told by a seller that something is allowed when in fact is isn’t.

Remember when you are buying something from someone, that person is selling you something. It is always in your best interest to confirm with the city/county departments on what you are told from sellers.
